history

North London Cricket Club has a proud history having been formed in 1877.

We welcome new members in both the junior and senior sections. Our grounds are on Crouch End Playing Fields,  London N8.  We have two grounds, the main pitch & pavilion is used for the first and second elevens, while our second ground and pavillion, Ferme Park, is used by the third, fourth and fifth teams.  We have excellent outdoor practice facilities with recently relaid nets, two bowling machines, a batting cage and an artificial strip. The main pavilion includes a new large bar, bbq patio and decking affording a first-class view of the cricket.

2006 was a very succesful season for the club with promotion for the 1st, 2nd and 4th XIs. And in 2007 the 3XI were promoted to Div 2 of the Middx County League.

NLCC 1st XI currently play in the 3rd division of the Middlesex County League, arguably the strongest amateur league in Britain. Middlesex clubs have dominated the Cockspur National cup and inter-league competitions in recent years.

All four elevens play competitive cricket on Saturdays in their respective leagues.  Further to Saturday League cricket, North London also competes in various Cups and a 20-over knockout competition.

As well as our Senior sides North London has a thriving junior community of over 250 boys and girls, and dozens of ECB qualified coaches. North London were the first club in Middlesex to acheive the prestigious  ECB Clubmark status, awarded by David Holland from the ECB on the 10th August, 2005. The club has satisfied a rigorous inspection of its policies and procedures and can rightly claim to be a safe, effective, child friendly club.

We encourage colts to become junior members and play some senior matches when we feel they are ready to do so. Many of our colts also play for Middlesex representative sides, and last year saw a Middlesex junior side entertain Essex on our main ground.

Practice sessions for Senior Members take place during the summer on Wednesday evenings, from around 5.45pm until light stops play.  If you are thinking of joining North London Cricket Club, why not pop along on Wednesday and join in.  Colts Cricket Practice sessions for those registered are held on Sunday mornings, 10am  - 12pm for Year 6 age groups and younger. Years 7 & 8 on Tuesday evenings, 6- 8pm and years 9 to 10 on Monday evenings 6 - 8pm.

You can use the Contact Us section of this site to send a message to our Club Captain, Chairman, Fixture Secretary or Junior Manager.

Pre-season indoor training runs in February and March in a local school. Please contact the club at northlondoncc@gmail.com for further information.

Players of the past remain in close contact with the club, and our photo gallery will continue to be updated with pictures of former members. Our annual President's XI fixture provides an opportunity for old members to turn out against the current players.
