I am sure that everyone is aware of the return of recreational cricket today. We will have senior sides
playing over the weekend (3 of them playing against Highgate across the Cot this afternoon) and then
junior matches starting next week.
The ECB’s return to play document is attached at the link below. Clearly there are adaptations to both playing and
organising the game in these COVID-19 times and captains and junior age group managers will be
providing briefings to players and parents on what all of this means in practice. Everyone needs to
support each other on this. Enjoy your cricket, but stay safe in doing so.
Just one reminder for anyone coming along to watch this weekend: the teams and officials form a
separate “bubble” for the duration of the game, so others are to stay apart from players and officials for
the duration of the game. I know that you are also all aware of the continuing requirements on groups
and distancing.
Most of all, though, it is fantastic to see the return of cricket at NLCC. It is also a time to say a big
thank you to the many members who have made this possible in keeping things going over recent
weeks and months - huge contributions have been made and I am incredibly grateful.
It’s not just me who appreciates those efforts - you will see that a former England captain agrees.

So, thank you Michael and thank you everyone for your support and also your patience.
Martin.
