North
London Cricket Club was founded in 1877 and has been playing cricket on its
beautiful grounds ever since. It has grown into one of the biggest clubs in the
county, offering league and cup games throughout the season for more than 450
members - men, women and children.
NLCC has 5 senior teams
playing in the Middlesex County Cricket League on a Saturday, 2 women’s league teams
playing 40-and 20-over formats on Sundays, a men’s Sunday team and an
U21 team in the Middlesex Development League. We have more than 325 registered boys & girls playing in the Middlesex junior leagues and the club enters a team in the
county’s U19 T20 competition and the U17
Youth Cup, offering a wealth of playing and training for young people wanting
to learn and improve in the game.
Training and home games
take place on our two cricket fields nestling in the picturesque conservation area
of Shepherds Cot, one of the nearest cricket facilities to the City and central
London. First-time visitors are always surprised by the delightful green
setting and can’t believe they are still in London.
The setting makes our
clubhouse a popular venue for wedding receptions, birthday parties, wakes, and
office parties or away-days (although not at weekends during the cricket season). We have a fully licensed bar and a catering
kitchen. For more information email our Club Steward, Andy Bennett abennett7691@gmail.com
If you are interested in
playing junior or whatever your level of experience, women’s cricket, or want to hire a pitch or the clubhouse,
see the relevant tabs on the left hand side of the page. Also there, under the
“Events” tab, you can see all the games for the current season.
At North London we also participate in the ECB’s national All Stars and Dynamos Cricket programmes for children aged between 5 and 8 and 8 and 11 respectively. Short, fun sessions to introduce young people to the game. More details under the relevant tabs.
As in previous years, the club offers opportunities for
individual or small group coaching. It is a good way to develop skills and confidence. For
enquiries and more details generally, please contact outdoorcricketbookingsnlcc@gmail.com, but move quickly as the coaches are likely to be in demand !
