Blind cricketers enjoy their return to North London

26 Sep 2014

The country’s best blind cricketers demonstrated their skills on Saturday in the county T20 finals. London Metro, Warwickshire, Somerset and Northamptonshire battled for the honours with the West Country team emerging as national champions.

The teams are made up of both blind and partially sighted players and they use a ball filled with ball bearings so they can hear it coming. This was the second year the championships have been held on our pitches and spectators commented on the high standard of sporting ability on display.

David Townley, chariman of Blind Cricket England & Wales, said they had such a good time they'll be back again next year and he hinted there may be the opportunity to play an international at North London.
