NLCC guard of honour at Lord's

24 May 2014

Our young players formed a guard of honour at Lord’s to welcome the county sides onto the pitch for the Twenty20 double-header when Middlesex hosted both Essex and Sussex on 17th May.

Norths boys and girls also helped the captains with the toss for both games and made friends with the Middlesex mascot, Pinky the Panther, in front of a large crowd at the home of cricket.

Middlesex didn’t have a very good day, losing to both their neighbouring counties, but the young crickets agreed it was a very special occasion. Girls’ section manager, Becky Issitt, said: “Everyone said it was amazing; the guards were thrilled to be up close to cricketing stars and the games were very exciting.”
