Bike to Barrow Fundraising Event 5th – 10th April
This year a number of North London CC’s intrepid players will be setting out from the Club on Easter Bank Holiday Monday morning on the first leg of an epic 310 mile challenge to ride all the way to Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria and then play a match against Furness CC.
The reason for this madness is to raise money through sponsorship, which will be used to fund a ‘Head Coach’ and an ‘Overseas Coach’ for the 2010 season. By ensuring these two roles can be funded this will benefit both the Junior and Senior sections of the Club through enhanced coaching standards and organisation.
All the riders will be meeting their own costs, so all the money donated will go towards the funding objectives. Here is a brief itinerary of the challenge:
- Day 1: NLCC to Northampton approx 70 miles
- Day 2: Northampton to Derby approx 70 miles
- Day 3: Derby to Hadfield approx 55 miles
- Day 4: Hadfield to Settle approx 60 miles
- Day 5: Settle to Barrow-in-Furness approx 55 miles
- Day 6: Furness CC v North London CC
